360 VR movies were created of all of the bikes. I used a "potato chip" style flyaround of the bikes to bring drama and better angles to the experience as opposed to the standard "spinning on a record player" approach.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL
Working with actual CAD models supplied by HD was a great place to start, but this is HD and they take their photography serious as hell. In working with the compositing house, I made sure to have them include many man irregularities like dirt on tires and wear marks on brake discs.

PAINT CHOICES & COUNTING
A big part of the 3Dand web work was making sure the bikes were as accurate in color and detail as they could get. I worked with HD to ensure that colors were up to their exacting standards.

This is the MY09 werbsite concept I pitched. It was based off their print catalogue for the year. After completing all of the CG bikes, I could start on the website design. Harley-Davidson is a really great American brand. It was an honor to call them a client.

the angle of the dangle
I love dramatic angles. I also love when something is done for a purpose. I made an intentional decision to use side views of bikes in areas where the user was "browsing" to help differentiate the models more effectively.
this is where those 360's went
When I started this project I had no idea how deep the HD model year experiences were. To top it all off, this was the first year HD wanted to move to the use of CG bikes instead of traditional photography.
